Santos Cirilo

Santos Cirilo was born in Santurce in 1956. He began his journalism career at the newspaper Liberación in 1984. Shortly after, in 1985, he won the First Fotopress Prize for Politics and Society for his photo of the Euskalduna Shipyard riots in Bilbao. In 1988, he received the Third Fotopress Prize for Snapshots in Bolivia, and the following year, the First International Children in Focus Prize. He has primarily worked for El País.
