La Gaceta del Norte

A conservative-leaning newspaper that was published in Bilbao from 1901 (with a brief interruption during the Spanish Civil War). Although it was the most widely circulated newspaper in the Basque press during the 1960s, it later entered a period of decline that eventually led to its demise. In the following years, various business owners attempted to revive it, without success. It closed definitively in 1987.
