\nEl problema de convivencia instalado en la sociedad vasca no deja de ser una cuesti\u00f3n artificial. Nunca ha existido un enfrentamiento entre dos comunidades en el Pa\u00eds Vasco. La violencia de ETA se antoja, cuando menos, gratuita y fuera de lugar: si bien es cierto que su origen puede localizarse en la lucha antifascista contra la dictadura franquista, no lo es menos que gran parte de su actividad de terror ha sido llevada a cabo en tiempos de democracia. Las aspiraciones nacionalistas fueron acogidas sobradamente en el Estatuto de Autonom\u00eda, junto a los signos de identidad que el PNV hizo valer: bandera, himno y denominaci\u00f3n territorial. Se dot\u00f3, asimismo, de medios de comunicaci\u00f3n al gobierno vasco y se instituy\u00f3 la convivencia ling\u00fc\u00edstica entre el castellano y el euskera. El terrorismo vasco, por tanto, posee rasgos particulares diferenciadores, pues es la \u00fanica democracia en el mundo en la que los atacados son los gobernados, no los gobernantes.

\nAbstract<\/strong>
\nThe problem concerning living together in Basque society is only an artificial issue. A confrontation has never existed between two communities in the Basque Country. The violence of ETA is, at least, sample and out of place: if it is true that ETA\u2019s origin can be localized in fighting against Franco dictatorship, it is also that the most of its terrorist activity has been made in democracy times. The nationalist expectations were fully inserted in the Statute of Autonomy, along with the different signs of identity which PNV makes aware: a flag, a national anthem and the name for the Country. Indeed, some mass media were given to the Basque Government, and the linguistic coexistence between Spanish and Basque languages was stablished. The Basque terrorism, consequently, has simple and differential features, because the Basque Country is the unique democracy all over the world in which the people attacked are the ones governed, but never those who governs.
