\nEste trabajo y su primera parte (Sanz y Garc\u00eda-Vera, 2022) analizan el s\u00edndrome del norte, un constructo psicopatol\u00f3gico utilizado para describir y entender las alteraciones psicol\u00f3gicas que presentaban algunos guardias civiles y polic\u00edas destinados en el Pa\u00eds Vasco o Navarra durante los a\u00f1os de actividad terrorista de la organizaci\u00f3n terrorista ETA. En esta segunda parte se realiz\u00f3 una revisi\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica de los trabajos cient\u00edficos sobre el s\u00edndrome del norte. Adem\u00e1s, se analizaron los siguientes factores relacionados con el constructo: actividad y amenaza terroristas, violencia de persecuci\u00f3n, victimizaci\u00f3n secundaria y aislamiento social. La revisi\u00f3n solo encontr\u00f3 dos estudios emp\u00edricos sobre el s\u00edndrome del norte. Un rean\u00e1lisis de sus datos revel\u00f3 que los guardias civiles destinados en el Pa\u00eds Vasco y Navarra mostraban una mayor incidencia de trastornos psicol\u00f3gicos que los destinados en otras comunidades aut\u00f3nomas. Este resultado, junto con el an\u00e1lisis de los factores relacionados con el constructo, permiten concluir que el s\u00edndrome del norte s\u00ed existe si se entiende como un constructo que hace referencia a que la situaci\u00f3n gravemente estresante o incluso traum\u00e1tica que vivieron las personas amenazadas, coaccionadas o extorsionadas en el Pa\u00eds Vasco y Navarra durante el tiempo de la actividad terrorista de ETA se puede considerar la causa necesaria y principal, aunque no suficiente ni \u00fanica, de los trastornos psicol\u00f3gicos que padecieron algunas de esas personas en esa \u00e9poca. \nAbstract<\/strong>
\nThis work and its first part (Sanz and Garc\u00eda-Vera, 2022) analyze the Northern syndrome, a psychopathological construct used to describe and understand the psychological alterations presented by some civil guards and police officers stationed in the Basque Country or Navarra during the years of terrorist activity of the terrorist organization ETA. In this second part, a systematic review of the scientific papers on the Northern syndrome was carried out. In addition, the following factors related to the construct were analyzed: terrorist activity and threat, persecution violence, secondary victimization, and social isolation. The review found only two empirical studies on Northern syndrome. A reanalysis of their data revealed that civil guards stationed in the Basque Country and Navarra had a higher incidence of psychological disorders than those stationed in other autonomous communities. This result and the analysis of the Northern syndrome-related factors suggest that the severely stressful or even traumatic situation experienced by people threatened, coerced or extorted in the Basque Country and Navarra during the time of ETA’s terrorist activity can be considered the necessary and main cause, although not the sufficient or only cause, of the psychological disorders suffered by some of those people at that time.
