\nEl presente trabajo realiza un acercamiento al secuestro de Julio Iglesias Zamora durante el verano de 1993 como punto de partida de un cambio de actitud de la sociedad vasca en sus posicionamientos p\u00fablicos hacia ETA. Las distintas iniciativas que surgieron a ra\u00edz de este secuestro permitieron, por primera vez, disputar el espacio p\u00fablico a la \u201cizquierda abertzale\u201d de forma simb\u00f3lica y f\u00edsica, configurando escenarios que, unos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, favorecieron episodios como el estallido social de Ermua tras el asesinato de Miguel \u00c1ngel Blanco.

\nAbstract<\/strong>
\nOne of the most forgotten chapters in the history of ETA has been their involvement in a number of kidnappings, even though they aroused greater citizen response than their murders. This work examines the kidnapping of Julio Iglesias Zamora during the summer of 1993 as the starting point for social mobilization against terrorism. The various initiatives that arouse as a result of this kidnapping allowed the Basque society for the first time to compete both symbolically and physically for the so far \u2018abertzale\u2019\u2013owned public spaces thus creating new scenarios which some years later would favor mass demonstrations of the citizenship such as those taking place after de murder of Miguel Angel Blanco.
