\nEl cuento \u201cMadres\u201d, sacado de la colecci\u00f3n Los peces de la amargura<\/em> (2006) escrita por Fernando Aramburu, se centra en las v\u00edctimas indirectas del terrorismo nacionalista de ETA. Mientras la violencia terrorista divide, mata y condena al ostracismo una comunidad al\u00f3gena llamada \u201clos espa\u00f1oles\u201d, la sociedad vasca y las v\u00edctimas indirectas han de jugar un papel de circunstancia para sobrevivir y evitar las represalias de la comunidad nacionalista. El objetivo de este art\u00edculo es estudiar la representaci\u00f3n de las v\u00edctimas indirectas y la violencia a la que son sometidas, analizando en particular la forma en que Aramburu derriba las m\u00e1scaras para devolver su rostro y su humanidad a dichas v\u00edctimas silenciadas durante d\u00e9cadas. \nThe short story \u2018Madres\u2019, taken from Fernando Aramburu’s collection Los peces de la amargura<\/em> (2006), places the indirect victims of ETA’s nationalist terrorism at the centre of the story. While terrorist violence divides, kills and ostracises a non-native community known as \u2018the Spaniards\u2019, Basque society and the indirect victims have to play a role of circumstance in order to survive and not suffer the reprisals of the nationalist community. The aim of this article is to study the representation of indirect victims and the violence to which they are subjected, analysing in particular the way in which Aramburu breaks down the masks to give back their face and their humanity to these victims who have been silenced for decades. \nLa nouvelle \u201cMadres\u201d, tir\u00e9e du recueil Los peces de la amargura (2006) de Fernando Aramburu, place les victimes indirectes du terrorisme nationaliste de l\u2019ETA au centre du propos. Alors que la violence terroriste divise, tue et ostracise une communaut\u00e9 allog\u00e8ne appell\u00e9e \u201cles Espagnols\u201d, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 basque et les victimes indirectes se doivent de jouer un r\u00f4le de circonstances pour survivre et ne pas subir les repr\u00e9sailles de la communaut\u00e9 nationaliste. L\u2019objectif de cet article est d\u2019\u00e9tudier la repr\u00e9sentation des victimes indirectes et la violence qu\u2019elles subissent, en analysant notamment la mani\u00e8re dont Aramburu fait tomber les masques pour redonner leur visage et leur humanit\u00e9 \u00e0 ces victimes silenci\u00e9es durant des d\u00e9cennies.
