\nResumen<\/strong>
\nEl nacionalismo vasco radical ha apostado hist\u00f3ricamente por una alianza estrat\u00e9gica entre todas las fuerzas nacionalistas. El frente abertzale ser\u00eda una forma de excluir a los partidos vascos no nacionalistas, alejar a la rama moderada de la v\u00eda institucional y del autonomismo, recuperar la unidad perdida del movimiento, acumular fuerzas frente al enemigo espa\u00f1ol y lograr la independencia. Adem\u00e1s, as\u00ed los extremistas esperan arrebatar a los moderados la posici\u00f3n hegem\u00f3nica dentro del campo abertzale. En este art\u00edculo se sintetizan las sucesivas propuestas frentistas, desde 1933 a la actualidad, y se explica el porqu\u00e9 de su fracaso.

\nAbstract<\/strong>
\nBasque radical nationalism has historically opted for a strategic alliance between all nationalist forces. The nationalist front would be a way to: exclude non-nationalist Basque parties, alienate the moderate branch of the institutional path and of autonomy, recover the lost unity of the movement, accumulate forces against the Spanish enemy and achieve independence. In addition, extremists hope to snatch the moderates the hegemonic position within the nationalist camp. This article summarizes the successive frontier proposals, from 1933 to the present, and explains the reason for its failure.
